Harry the Karate Monkey by Stuart Simmonds

Review:

Harry the karate monkey is a book following the story of a secret agent, a little girl called Lucy, a stuffed toy monkey and loads of baddies. It’s a lovely adventure story which is beautifully illustrated and very engaging.

My son Jasper is 3 years old and rarely sits still so a book must have illustrations to capture his attention. This book did that straight away, he was entertained by the funny story, the cheeky monkey and couldn’t wait to turn the page to see what happened next.  His favourite part was the car chase where he got very excited, he was turning the page and using the images to guess what happened before I’d had a chance to read it aloud. I look forward to the time when he can read this by himself because I think he will really enjoy it.
