Rise Up - Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories

Our 9-year old son and I were both very impressed with this book that showcases amazing true stories of young people from around the World, as well as offering tips, skills and inspiration for children to meet their extraordinary potential.

The scope of the book is vast - covering such household names as Greta Thunberg, Malala Yousafzai and Ellie Simmonds as well as historical figures such as Frida Kahlo, Pélé and Louis Braille, via many other astonishing tales from children we'd never heard of before.

The tips and skills are equally wide-ranging, from cracking coconuts and drawing self-portraits to tying knots and public speaking; there's something for everyone here.

We found the writing clear and engaging, though probably best suited to confident readers as there is a lot of text.  There is so much to learn that I'd challenge anybody not to find something interesting inside the bright yellow covers!
