Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory Departments Awarded “Excellent” in all aspects of our latest ISI Inspection

Welcome to Broughton Manor Preparatory School

Broughton Manor Preparatory School is situated on the east side of Milton Keynes City (near junction 14 of the M1).

Our Nursery is based in the Manor House, within the grounds of the Preparatory School.  It provides a warm, safe, and nurturing atmosphere for children from 2 months to 3 years of age.

We have an Early Years professional led staff team consisting of qualified and experienced practitioners. Many of our practitioners have 10 plus years of service.

The Nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor spaces, where the children have access to a large lawned area, sandpits, outdoor kitchen, and our Spinney. We are committed to creating a happy and caring atmosphere for the children in our care and provide a rounded learning environment in which children thrive.

Broughton Manor Preparatory School aims to develop skills for life:  self-confidence, resilience, independence, respect for others and the environment, creativity and imagination and a desire to live life to the full.

HEADTEACHERS' WELCOME

As Headteachers, we are extremely proud of our children, the school and all of the wonderful opportunities we offer to our children. Our ethos is one of positivity, warmth, excellent behaviour and endeavour every day, delivered through a lively blend of current up to the minute educational philosophies, and the use of the latest technology, mixed with traditional standards.

In our school, we strive to offer the absolute best in teaching and learning for all of our children, at every age, from babies to Year 6. As practising teachers ourselves, we share a love of education with our team of expert teachers, who provide the skills and knowledge required for all children to succeed and progress, while carefully nurturing pupils’ individual strengths and needs.

As a school team, we focus hard on the core skills and ensure academic rigour throughout the childrens’ journeys, which is proven by the excellent assessment results, and the success rate of our Year 6 pupils moving onto their first choice of secondary school placement.

The academic core is intertwined with a wide raft of subjects and extra opportunities. Children who have special interests or show talents in areas will thrive here.  We are proud of our fantastic creative arts provision and are working towards our Artsmark award. Sport is of a very high profile, provided by specialist teachers, and we love to share all of the exciting outdoor learning and gardening that happens within our grounds, garden and Spinney.

We welcome children of all ages, all year round, all of whom very quickly become part of our thriving team, as they are taken under the wings of our caring staff and pupils who clearly love coming to Nursery and school to learn every day.

Our current Heads, Jeremy and Rachel Smith are stepping down at the end of the summer term to take a career break and some family time. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for everything they have achieved at Broughton Manor.

We look forward to welcoming our new Head in September, Mrs Katy Joiner. Katy is an excellent school leader and early years practitioner with fourteen years’ experience as a Headteacher at two independent prep schools. She is currently Head at Hilden Oaks Preparatory School in Kent.

On her appointment, Katy said "My personal vision for Broughton Manor is for every child to say and feel that it is the best school they ever attended, for every staff member that it is the best place they ever worked, and for every parent that it is the best decision they ever made for their child.

My husband and I, along with our Golden Doodle dog, Fergal will be relocating over the summer holidays and it will feel a bit like coming home as we lived in Ampthill for 18 years before moving to Kent in 2015.”
