British Baby Box - Giving Babies the Best Start In Life
One thing we are very passionate about at British Baby Box, is giving baby the best start in life. We firmly believe that our boxes do this: offering a modern alternative to a Moses basket, with the ability to double the lid up as a changing mat and reuse the baby box afterwards as a keepsake or storage box. Not only are the boxes portable, gender neutral and super cosy, they are also designed with a quality and standard in mind that is befitting of our company ethos.
Since 2018 we are delighted to have worked closely with Tendring Baby Bank, a cause local to us. Often those most in need can’t afford a cot and with space being an issue - both for the mum-to-be and for baby bank storage. Our baby boxes make a great addition to what baby banks and charities can offer, by way of somewhere comfortable for baby to sleep. Since then we have also worked with many other baby banks and charities throughout the UK, supporting expectant mums to help them give their baby the best start.
Working with these charities has given us a unique insight into what mums really need, rather than the many lavish items that they sometimes want. With so much on the market for babies, it is a minefield of choices. By focusing on the grass roots of giving your baby the essentials, you can really begin to see what is important. This has helped us develop our products to focus on quality, comfort and safety. Our clothing range is made from 100% organic cotton and our baby boxes are high quality and follow The Lullaby Trust’s guidance ensuring “your baby has a firm, flat and waterproof mattress.”
Sadly, the effects of the last year has seen an increase in calls and referrals for many charities and baby banks and they are now, more than ever, in need of our support. We are proud to have launched a charity-focused initiative in February this year, offering three free baby boxes to all baby banks and further baby boxes at a vastly reduced rate. It was lovely talking to the various charities and baby banks who got in touch and we are so pleased to hear how we have helped.
Our baby boxes are often filled with other essentials that have been donated too, so mums in need are given a head start with items they really need.
