Mother's Day Craft: Chocolate Pretzel Flowers

These Chocolate Pretzel Flowers are a fun, easy craft for little hands to help with and they make a beautiful and delicious handmade treat for Mother’s Day!

Equipment & Ingredients
* Oven Dish
* Spatula
* A fork & spoon
* Parchment paper
* Paper straws
* Cut-out paper leaves (optional)
* Glue (optional)
* 2 x 100g of White chocolate
* Pretzels

Instructions
1. Place two pieces of parchment paper onto your work surface and get your equipment ready next to it.

2. Place a wrapped bar of chocolate into the oven proof dish and cover with boiling water and wait until melted and smooth.

3. Once melted, pour half of it into a bowl, add your yellow food colouring and mix together then place a spoonful of the chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread into a circle (the size of a 10p), this will make the centre of your flower.

4. Repeat the process of melting the chocolate and then adding your other colours to make the colour of your choice.

5. Place a pretzel into the melted chocolate and push it down with your fork ensuring the whole pretzel is covered in the chocolate, then lift the coated pretzel to the edge of the bowl and tap a few times to release the excess chocolate.

6. Place the coated pretzel down onto the parchment paper and repeat the process 3 more times so that you have a total of 4 covered pretzels to make the flower, placing them down into a circle formation with the tops facing outwards and ensuring the pretzel touch each other, then place one of your yellow circles on top in the middle.

7. Place in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to set. Once dry, this is one flower complete, continue this process until all the chocolate has been used. You can repeat the process using different food colouring if you would like to make different coloured flowers.

8. To add your straw as a stem, place some melted chocolate at one end of the straw, carefully lift your flower and place onto the melted chocolate and place back in the fridge to harden.

9. Once completely dry, use a toothpick or tip of a sharp knife to remove any excess chocolate from the pretzel holes.

10. An optional extra to finish these flowers off, is you could add some paper leaves to the bottom of the straw.
