Review: Big Fish Little Fish

Review by Liz at Toddle About S. Warwickshire

The Toddle About team were delighted to attend the Big Fish Little Fish event at Leamington Assembly on Sunday 26 March.

The event is designed for people who love dance music and to rave, and crazily enough, their children too!

The event is a family event with lots for children to do, including crafts, bubbles and a glitter tattoo station amongst other things. Mostly though, it is about all the old school music that you used to enjoy and the chance for your children to enjoy it too!!

Upon arriving at The Assembly, the door staff welcomed us in, and up the stairs we went to the dance floor that we were all so familiar with in our pre-children days.

My son was delighted to see bubbles and fun lighting and made straight for the dance floor to try and catch one of the balloons that was being thrown from the stage into the crowd, to all of the children’s delight!

Huge balloons had also been thrown into the crowd and my son, amongst others, had straight away realised that being on his dad’s shoulders was the best way to get a hit of the balloon flying up and down above the crowd on the dance floor!

The music was just what you’d expect, but not too loud (though enough to reminisce about evenings spent dancing) or with any sort of language you would prefer your child not to hear. The event organisers also made it very clear that no strobe lighting would be used, but with all the bubbles, glitter and brilliant lighting, it was barely noticeable that it wasn’t there!

The craft table then beckoned where my son created his own ‘rave fan’ with the vast amount of materials supplied!

We all had a brilliant time and I can truly say it was a family event that all three of us enjoyed, maybe for different reasons, but we all loved it nonetheless and cannot wait to hear when the next one is organised for!
