Review: Casdon Ooni Pizza Oven and Topping Station Set, worth £35
Review by VIP Club Member Shyla Anderson
My two-year-old loves playing with the Casdon Ooni Pizza Oven and Topping Station Set. He really enjoys pretending to run his own little café, taking “orders” and proudly creating pizzas for his imaginary customers. The set comes with a range of accessories, including different toppings, a pizza slicer, and a pizza paddle. The toppings fit nicely onto the pizza base, and it was quick and easy to assemble straight out of the box which is always a bonus when you have an eager toddler waiting to play!
The pizza oven itself looks impressively realistic and is a nice size for little hands. However, there are a few small downsides. The pizza slices don’t connect together very securely, which means they can easily fall apart during play, and the overall feel is a bit flimsy. There’s also a flame effect in the oven, which sounds exciting, but it isn’t particularly bright or noticeable and my little one didn’t really pay much attention to it. He tends to focus more on the creative side of making the pizzas, rather than using the oven or the slicer.
That said, the set does encourage imaginative play, role play, and fine motor skills as children place toppings, serve customers, and pretend to cook. It’s lovely to see him so engaged, chatting away as he plays. Overall, while I think it could benefit from sturdier pieces and perhaps more interactive features to justify the price, it’s still a fun and engaging toy for little ones who enjoy pretend cooking. It’s perfect for encouraging creativity and make-believe play, just don’t expect too much realism from the “cooking” part!
